- Underwriting Opportunities - Help us - We'll Help Your Business
- This program reaches an unexplored segment of the radio market,
a segment which we believe you would like to reach... those within the
American Indian Community as well as those who are interested in it.
- The opportunity to reach this target market listener through
alter意ative Voices is being offered to only a handful of specific
business and organizations, including yours. Why? Well, pretty
cut and dried, really... alter意ative Voices, being a public radio
program, is regulated by NPR (National Public Radio). In accordance
with NPR regulations, we are limited to only four minutes of paid
underwriting per hour.
- Here's the zinger... 20 seconds of non-intensive on-air promotion
for your business can be purchased for $50. The rate for 60 seconds
is $150. No trick, no catch. (We're public radio... we're not
allowed to hide this stuff!).
- You are welcome to purchase as many of these time blocks as
you'd like as long as they are available. There are no
breaks in price for bulk purchase... after all, we are public
radio. However, if you'll commit to 52 weeks, we will send you an
alter意ative Voices T-shirt!
- You can provide written copy to be read live on the
air although all materials will be subject to editing to
comply with NPR regs. The contents of your promotion must be
"non-intrusive", according to NPR. In other words,
the copy should be "Information" as opposed to
"Sell" or "Call To Action". If
you prefer, our staff would be happy to construct a promotion for
you at no additional cost.

- How do we find our guests?
- . . . through friends, community organizations and recording
artists. If you are or know of and American Indian person with a
special story of talent and will be in the Denver area over a weekend,
we would like to talk!
- alter·Native Voices is an all volunteer, no budget
production. There is no paid staff person. So there is not a lot of
time to chase possible guests long distance. We rely on guests who
pursue the opportunity to be on the air with us.
